About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage all elements and day-to-day operations of the Family Support program in a specific state
  • Recruit mentors/mentees and promote the program throughout the assigned area
  • Implement the Eunie’s Buddies program, including volunteer training and management, recruitment, planning, and outcomes assessment
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to meet Eunie’s Buddies and Siblings program goals
  • Identify and engage potential parent mentors, mentees, and program participants
  • Oversee parent mentor/mentee matching and monitor match effectiveness
  • Provide local training and manage database inquiries
  • Train volunteers on Best Buddies and their volunteer roles
  • Identify local resources and partnerships with organizations, hospitals, and medical practices
  • Coordinate local community socials at least 3–4 times per year
  • Recruit, manage, and support community volunteers
  • Assist with annual program evaluations, public relations, goals, and community relations
  • Increase program awareness through public speaking, marketing, tabling events, and media initiatives
  • Assist with funding opportunities, grant writing, and statistical data collection
  • Collaborate with the State Director on fundraising and create an Eunie’s Buddies team for the local Friendship Walk
  • Partner with community leaders on parent engagement strategies and implement recruitment marketing campaigns
  • Track and evaluate program outcomes through regular assessments
  • Complete weekly reports, monthly reports, quarterly goals, paperwork, and special projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or at least three years relevant experience
  • Experience in program development and leading/developing volunteers
  • Nonprofit experience preferred
  • Deep belief in the organization’s mission
  • Superior persuasive writing and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, digital meeting software, and learning & development facilitation software
  • Understanding of parental issues and challenges faced by families with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
  • Superior project management skills, including planning, analysis, decision making, and problem solving
  • Initiative, drive for results, self-assessment skills, and ability to lead individuals and programs toward goals
  • Dependability, adaptability, and ability to lead volunteers
  • Comfort engaging with corporate/community leaders, parents, medical professionals, and people with IDD
  • Access to an automobile/transportation with applicable insurance
  • Must travel, use a personal cell phone, and work evenings and weekends as necessary
