About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide independent mental health therapy through BetterHelp’s online telehealth platform
Establish a full clinical caseload, potentially within the first 30 days
Conduct scheduled live sessions and communicate through shared journals, audio and video messages, clinical worksheets, and formal goal setting and tracking
Apply clinical judgment and expertise to determine effective and clinically appropriate approaches for clients
Work with clients matched to the therapist’s areas of expertise
Focus on clinical work while BetterHelp handles client acquisition, billing, support, and operations
Work with specific populations or presenting concerns
Use secure, encrypted phone, video, and text-based communication

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of experience (required)
Master’s degree (required)
Full independent clinical licensure, such as LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, Psychologist, or PsyD
Fully licensed by a State Board to provide therapy independently and without supervision
Experience counseling adults, couples, and/or teens
Private and professional environment for conducting sessions
Excellent written communication
Professional liability insurance
Reliable Internet connection
Currently residing in the US
Not an intern and not requiring supervision to provide therapy services
Substance abuse counselors, school counselors, registered nurses, career counselors, Christian counselors, and business coaches are not accepted unless they have an additional license as a mental health counselor
