About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create, edit, publish, and maintain high-quality, client-facing technical documentation aligned with product release schedules
- Interview subject matter experts and analyze CAD models, BOMs, and UI wireframes to translate complex concepts into documentation plans
- Evaluate hardware/software prototypes and updated builds to understand product functionality and user workflows
- Independently manage documentation projects, develop work plans, and track project status using Biamp project management software
- Represent Technical Publications in product development and ECO meetings
- Advise project teams on information design best practices
- Partner with fellow writers to provide creative support and participate in editorial, peer, and publishing reviews
- Stay current with emerging trends, tools, and methodologies in technical communications
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of technical writing experience
- Proven ability to architect and write clear, audience-tailored procedural and reference content
- Ability to consistently deliver highly accurate, publication-ready drafts with minimal editorial correction
- Expert information-gathering skills
- Ability to interview subject matter experts and synthesize complex data from engineering documentation, source materials, and hands-on hardware/software evaluations
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative/Technical Communication Suites, especially Illustrator and Photoshop
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with CAD rendering software such as SolidWorks Composer
- Experience with content management and version control systems, specifically SharePoint, Git, and GitHub
- Familiarity with Biamp's product portfolio, or technical aptitude to quickly master networked audiovisual (AV) hardware, technologies, and software systems
