About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform routine maintenance on common laboratory equipment
Ensure sufficient stock of washed and autoclaved glassware
Perform sterilization and sanitization of equipment
Restock commonly used materials in the various BigHat lab spaces
Prepare common lab materials, such as pre-labelled plates
Support lab staff with basic requests
Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and organization of the lab and storage spaces
Report directly to the Lab Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need

Interest in learning about biology, chemistry, or the biotech field
Self-motivated individual with attention to detail, excited to work in a dynamic start-up environment
Experience in a laboratory environment or lab operations is a plus
Experience with Google Suite, with a focus on Google Sheets
Planned availability of 10–16 hours per week across 2–3 days
