About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead a team of procurement professionals focused on supplier lifecycle management
Lead supplier onboarding, supplier master data, supplier enablement, supplier risk management, and analytics
Develop and execute global supplier onboarding, enablement, risk management, and analytics strategies
Support suppliers through onboarding and maintenance processes
Streamline the exception process for onboarding patients and Health Care Professionals
Continuously improve and cleanse supplier master data
Ensure supplier data is collected for internal and external reporting requirements
Implement supplier adoption and engagement strategies on the SAP Business Network
Identify strategic opportunities to streamline the Source to Pay process
Develop and execute a global supplier risk management strategy and roadmap
Establish centralized supplier risk profiles and proactive risk identification, analysis, documentation, and communication
Set and execute the analytics strategy and implementation roadmap
Champion ESG and DEI initiatives through supplier management
Build cross-functional relationships with category leaders, company colleagues, suppliers, and functional risk owners
Provide mentoring and management to direct reports and ensure team engagement and professional development
Develop KPIs and metrics to track performance and drive measurable outcomes
Provide strategic and operational input into Source to Pay transformation, process, and technology solutions
Create a multi-year roadmap of Source to Pay opportunities
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and support audits as needed
Maintain awareness of industry trends and evolving procurement practices
Limited travel may be required to BioMarin offices

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field
10+ years of experience in Procurement, Sourcing, or Supply Chain
Experience in procurement and supply chain management in a global capacity, preferably within the pharmaceutical sector
Demonstrated experience with supplier onboarding, risk management, analytics, sourcing and procurement, ideally in the pharmaceutical industry
Specific knowledge of supplier onboarding, master data maintenance, supplier risk management, sourcing and procurement KPIs and metrics
Strong people management and team leadership experience
Experience with procurement technology, ideally SAP / Ariba SLP
Demonstrated expertise in defining requirements and streamlining supplier onboarding and maintenance processes
Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing a supplier risk management program
Strong knowledge of Environmental, Social, and Governance and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion opportunities within supplier lifecycle management
Significant experience working in a matrix global/regional business environment
Strong networking, analytical, written and verbal communication, influencing, interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, often under tight deadlines
Ability to navigate change, complexity, and ambiguity with a strategic mindset
Ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders and business partners
Ability to work with SAP Business Network and Source to Pay processes
