About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and enhance data ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines
Implement models and transformations using SQL and Python
Implement orchestration workflows with dependency control and failure handling
Preserve received data and its source, ensuring traceability, version control, and reprocessing
Implement structural and business validations, deduplication, and reconciliation
Document inconsistencies clearly for the responsible teams
Translate business rules into reproducible transformations and calculations
Make data and files available to consuming systems while adhering to versioned contracts, integrity, and compatibility requirements
Build idempotent routines and recovery mechanisms
Optimize queries, partitioning, and distributed processing
Monitor performance, resource consumption, and execution costs
Create automated data and contract tests
Monitor pipelines and investigate failures with the relevant teams
Document rules and contracts
Participate in code reviews and support the team's technical development
Collaborate with architecture, development, quality assurance, and business teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree or equivalent; all fields of study are welcome
Solid experience in data engineering, with hands-on experience building and maintaining production pipelines in Databricks
Strong command of SQL and experience using Python for data processing and integration
Experience with distributed processing, data-layer organization, and large-scale data storage
Experience with data transformation and orchestration tools, including testing, documentation, dependency management, and failure handling
Experience with cloud storage and best practices for organizing, accessing, and publishing data
Knowledge of data modeling, incremental loads, schema evolution, data quality, and reconciliation
Ability to design traceable and rerunnable processes with controls for identity, versioning, and content integrity
Experience with Git, code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD)
Autonomy in investigating issues and proposing improvements
Clear communication skills to discuss rules and results with technical and business stakeholders
