About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Safely operate several types of Class 3 units at the Imperial Oil site (Kearl)
  • Operate Combo Vac units
  • Complete daily documentation, including logbooks, customer work orders, field-level risk assessments, and pre/post-trip inspections
  • Follow instructions from Dispatch or Supervisor
  • Complete daily housekeeping of the assigned truck
  • Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings
  • Adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures
  • Maintain and operate BME tools and equipment according to required standards
  • Keep all training current
  • Follow TDG and WHMIS standards and regulations
  • Seek continuous improvement opportunities
  • Provide customer-focused service

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 3 years manual transmission experience
  • Valid Class 3 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with up to 18 speed manual Class 1 or 3 equipment
  • Previous or related experience operating Combo Vac units
  • TDG knowledgeable
  • Mine drive experience is an asset
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • OSSA (or BSO/CSO) and CSTS certification
  • Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Daily Trip Inspections, Provincial Hours of Service for Alberta, Weights and Dimensions, Cargo Securement for flatbeds, WHMIS, and H2S Alive
  • Must successfully pass BME driver’s evaluation, Drug and Alcohol screening, and fit-for-duty pre-employment screening
  • Physically fit and able to work in all kinds of weather
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
