About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Implement and execute quality control work scopes and disciplines on industrial work sites
- Support welding of pipe and structural steel, with civil or concrete work as required
- Ensure code and client specification requirements are implemented and completed on site
- Read and interpret engineers’ drawings, including P&IDs and isometric drawings
- Review third-party records, including NDE and MTRs
- Create and maintain inspection records, reports, logs, test packages, and turnover documentation
- Perform visual weld inspections, dimensional verification, weld mapping, and red-line drawings
- Create pressure test packages and witness testing
- Record and verify welds and heat numbers for material traceability
- Create and ensure compliance with ITPs
- Coordinate and assist in assembling turnover documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- CWB Level II Certified Welding Inspector
- Competent knowledge of NDE processes, ASME B31.3, and CSA Codes
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritize work
- Proficient with computer programs, including Bluebeam and Microsoft Office
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Related experience in Industrial Mechanical Construction and Quality Control
- General experience and knowledge in earthworks, geotechnical, formwork and concrete, super-structural steel, architectural, and/or infrastructure considered an asset
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with project team members
