About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Technical ownership of the Shopify Plus environment, including architecture, code quality, performance, and stable operations
Further development of the Shopify theme using Liquid, JavaScript/TypeScript, and SCSS
Implementation of PDP details and complete funnels in collaboration with UX and E-Commerce
Preparing realistic effort estimates
Ensuring a fast and stable shop through Core Web Vitals, app and script audits, and monitoring
Providing rapid support in the event of incidents
Developing Shopify Functions, custom apps, and Checkout Extensions
Implementing complex discount logic with bundles and subscriptions
Monitoring new Shopify features and deprecations
End-to-end ownership of tracking using dataLayer, GA4, and Consent Mode v2
Technical implementation of A/B tests in the theme and checkout
Building reusable components
Managing coding agents and ensuring quality through reviews, testing, and CI/CD
Maintaining clear documentation and developing automations to reduce the workload of other teams
Close collaboration with Marketing, UX, and E-Commerce

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience in web or e-commerce development
At least 3 years of experience with Shopify (Plus), including Liquid, Functions, and custom apps
Experience using coding agents on a daily basis and the ability to critically review their output
Advanced knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and SCSS
Solid backend foundation in Node.js, GraphQL, and webhooks
Independently implemented tracking with GA4 and Consent Mode v2
Experience with dataLayer and GDPR-compliant tracking
Fluent German
Ideally, experience with ERP or marketplace integrations, or a background in D2C/healthcare
