About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and support VDC Specialists at the project level to meet deadlines
Support the project team within the VDC Group
Manage construction documents, submittals, specifications, and vendor-specific models
Ensure the BIM team has current project-related information
Work with engineers and managers to produce LOD400 BIM for mechanical and plumbing systems
Coordinate spatial requirements with the General Contractor and other subcontractors
Attend weekly coordination meetings onsite or virtually
Generate RFIs for submission to the design team
Create and annotate shop, hanger, and sleeve drawings
Export hanger and sleeve coordinates for robotic total station field layout
Communicate fabrication and installation intent to field personnel
Mentor and train VDC team members
Produce shop drawings, bills of materials, pipe cut lists, fabrication labels, hanger labels, and miscellaneous reports
Collaborate with team members to complete drawings and models on schedule
Maintain training and continued education to improve accuracy and productivity
Provide management input on hardware and software requirements
Enhance communication between functional business partners
May participate in job interviews regarding VDC team capabilities

Requirements

What you’ll need

5 or more years of experience with installation of mechanical or plumbing systems
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication CADMEP, and Autodesk Navisworks
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to be trained in company-specific applications and software
Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret project schedules, technical literature, technical writing, and plans
Leadership skills to lead a project team
Ability to define problems, assess options, and make recommendations
Ability to distinguish between shades of color
Competence in public speaking and presentations
Good verbal and written communication skills with ability to train and mentor
Good analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and self-management skills
Ability to coordinate project activities and monitor progress
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage stress and job demands
Ability to work cooperatively with others
Ability and willingness to demonstrate ethical behavior and a high level of integrity
