About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support clients with environmental permitting, including Incidental Take Permits, Habitat Conservation Plan drafting and consistency analyses, Clean Water Act 401 and 404 permits, USACE 408 permits, California Coastal Commission permits, and CDFW Section 1600 permitting
  • Prepare project budgets and task descriptions
  • Manage task budgets and interact with clients
  • Identify and compare multiple permitting pathways for clients
  • Participate in business development and collaborate to secure contracts
  • Support other BKF divisions on multidisciplinary pursuits
  • Ensure timely deliverables and updates to internal and external partners and clients
  • Manage budgets to maximize financial performance
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Potentially serve as a project biologist or wetland delineation expert

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in environmental science
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in progressive leadership roles with oversight of cultural resource professionals
  • Strong understanding of federal and state environmental regulations and laws
  • Ability to effectively manage teams and communicate with clients
  • Valid California Class C driver's license and an acceptable driver’s record are required
  • Must be able to regularly talk, hear, and operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse
  • Occasionally lift, pull/push, and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations
  • Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be required
