About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Configure, install, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and related network software throughout the US
  • Perform on-site implementation, rack and stack, and network hardware connections in indoor and outdoor conditions
  • Participate in the design, planning, and implementation of LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center networks
  • Lead network deployments and serve as a key project stakeholder
  • Deliver timely, detailed status reports to project stakeholders
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize network efficiency and availability
  • Implement and manage firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection and prevention systems, SIEM tools, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and data loss prevention
  • Lead resolution of complex hardwired and wireless network issues, ISP and WAN connectivity problems, and security incidents
  • Coordinate and lead incident response for critical security events with clients and internal teams
  • Advise clients on cybersecurity best practices and infrastructure improvements
  • Produce reports on security incidents, threat analyses, and recommendations
  • Mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians
  • Lead initiatives to improve security processes, tools, and methodologies
  • Participate in network operations, project management, and remote network support during non-travel periods
  • Travel within the Bay Area and throughout the US, estimated up to 50%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Residence in the Los Angeles area
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience configuring and maintaining Palo Alto Networks, Juniper, Ruckus, Cisco, Aruba, or Meraki hardware
  • At least 3 years leading network architecture and implementation, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, physical installation, and cybersecurity integration
  • Experience ideally within an MSSP or MSP environment
  • Deep expertise with networking hardware, tools, and software
  • Ability to independently investigate, diagnose, and solve novel problems with minimal guidance
  • Strong analytical skills and experience resolving complex critical infrastructure and routing/switching issues under pressure
  • Exceptional communication skills and client-facing experience
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments, travel requirements, and on-call rotations
  • Ability to lift and install IT equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders for wireless access point installation
  • Ability to work in varying indoor/outdoor physical environments
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Networking, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (desired)
  • Certifications such as Network+, CCNP, CCIE, or CISSP (desired)
  • Proficiency in Python or PowerShell (desired)
  • Understanding of Wi-Fi (desired)
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
