About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support engineering teams under general supervision by performing technical tasks
  • Use digital tools and design software to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables
  • Learn and remain current on standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, and company policies and procedures
  • Apply knowledge of the BV Quality Program to ensure deliverables are accurate and compliant
  • Support continuous improvement and change management efforts
  • Evaluate and improve methods, processes, and procedures used to accomplish deliverables
  • Create and develop deliverables based on a variety of design inputs
  • Perform basic computations such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks
  • Assist in coordinating deliverables with other project groups to minimize interference or errors
  • Focus on internal client needs and develop an understanding of external client interests and drivers
  • Seek and share knowledge of the latest technologies and processes
  • May provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineering technicians

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically a minimum of 2 years related work experience
  • Intermediate understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience or ability to use digital tools and design software such as CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling
  • Ability to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables
  • Ability to perform basic computations such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks
  • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search
  • Diploma or Certificate preferred
  • Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred
