About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate construction activities on the project with the Project Field Manager
- Manage and coordinate on-site subcontractor activities for CPM schedule and subcontract compliance
- Implement the Project Construction Execution Plan
- Supervise and mentor superintendents
- Monitor and report construction productivity, schedule performance, and trends
- Meet project budget and schedule requirements
- Establish and implement subcontractor schedule recovery plans
- Coordinate construction completion walkdowns and handover of start-up packages
- Supervise punch-list closeout and ensure construction punch-list completion
- Assist the Project Field Manager with client interface and relations
- Coordinate review and acceptance of site-procured materials
- Approve equipment rentals and coordinate shared equipment use
- Conduct weekly subcontractor coordination and project meetings
- Report weekly schedule and commodity installation status
- Monitor extra-work authorizations, backcharges, and supplier/subcontractor payment requests
- Track information supporting the change-management system
- Adhere to safety, quality, ethical standards, lessons learned, and performance-management programs
- Manage Division 8 labor charges and costs on direct-hire projects
- Manage the construction equipment budget
- Monitor and approve CIR replies to subcontractors
- Act as site Safety Representative when the regular Safety Supervisor is absent
- Provide coverage for lead construction disciplines and the Project Field Manager when needed
- Establish the tool-trailer list at project commencement
- Resolve safety and quality issues with safety and quality managers
- Manage construction subcontract terms and commercial deliverables
- Monitor and control overtime
- Write the construction portion of client and monthly construction reports
- Coordinate with field and home-office engineers on engineering deliverables
- Manage Manufacturer’s Service Technicians and timesheet tracking
- Identify and assess value-improvement opportunities
- Champion and facilitate continuous-improvement efforts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Union or union management experience strongly preferred
- Construction Manager experience on a combined cycle construction project strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or related field preferred, or relevant field experience
- 14+ years of construction supervisory experience required
- At least 3 years of previous Construction Manager experience
- OSHA Training
- Knowledge of construction technology, including Simple Cycle, Combined Cycle, Pulverized Coal, Circulating Fluidized Bed, and Nuclear
- Knowledge of the EPC industry
- Constructability knowledge
- Knowledge of project and department budget processes and tools
- Knowledge of project controls
