About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate construction activities on the project with the Project Field Manager
- Manage and coordinate on-site subcontractor activities for CPM schedule and subcontract compliance
- Implement the Project Construction Execution Plan
- Supervise and mentor superintendents
- Monitor and report construction productivity, schedule performance, and trends
- Meet project budget and schedule requirements
- Direct subcontractor schedule recovery plans
- Coordinate construction completion walkdowns and handover of startup packages
- Supervise punch-list closeout and construction completion
- Assist with client interface and relations
- Coordinate site-procured material reviews and equipment rentals
- Conduct weekly subcontractor coordination and progress meetings
- Report weekly schedule and commodity installation status
- Monitor extra work authorizations, backcharges, and supplier/subcontractor payment requests
- Manage safety, quality, ethical standards, lessons learned, and performance programs
- Manage Division 8 labor charges, direct construction costs, and construction equipment budget
- Monitor and approve subcontractor CIR replies
- Serve as site Safety Representative when the regular Safety Supervisor is absent
- Stand in for construction discipline leads and the Project Field Manager when necessary
- Resolve safety and quality issues with safety and quality managers
- Manage construction subcontract commercial and deliverable terms
- Monitor and control overtime
- Write construction sections of client and monthly construction reports
- Coordinate engineering deliverables with field or home-office engineers
- Manage manufacturer’s service technicians and timesheet tracking
- Identify, support, and champion continuous improvement and change management initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- 14+ years of construction supervisory experience required
- At least 3 years of previous construction manager experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or related field preferred, or relevant field experience
- OSHA Training
- Union or union management experience strongly preferred
- High Voltage Transmission and Substation experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of construction technology
- Knowledge of EPC industry
- Constructability knowledge
- Knowledge of project and department budget processes and tools
- Knowledge of project controls
- Risk assessment/management
- Construction Project Management Systems knowledge
- Conceptual planning ability
- Conflict management, leadership, multitasking, presentation, problem-solving, project management, communication, and meeting skills
- Knowledge of time and expense reporting systems and policies
- Ability to complete applicable pre-employment background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform construction-site physical activities
- Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions
