About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate construction activities on the project
- Coordinate compliance with schedule, safety, cost, and quality decisions with the Project Field Manager
- Manage and coordinate on-site subcontractor and direct-hire superintendent activities
- Implement the Project Construction Execution Plan
- Supervise and mentor superintendents
- Monitor and report construction productivity, trends, and schedule performance
- Take actions to meet project budget and schedule requirements
- Establish and implement subcontractor schedule recovery plans
- Coordinate construction completion walkdowns and handover of startup packages
- Supervise closure of punch-list items and complete the construction punch list
- Assist with client interface and relations
- Coordinate review and acceptance of site-procured materials
- Review and approve company-supplied equipment rentals and coordinate shared equipment use
- Conduct weekly coordination and subcontractor meetings
- Report weekly schedule and commodity installation status
- Monitor extra-work authorizations, backcharges, and supplier/subcontractor payment requests
- Support change management tracking
- Adhere to safety, quality, ethical standards, lessons learned, and performance management programs
- Manage Division 8 labor charges and costs on direct-hire projects
- Manage the construction equipment budget
- Monitor and approve subcontractor CIR replies
- Act as site Safety Representative when the regular Safety Supervisor is absent
- Stand in for construction discipline leads and the Project Field Manager when needed
- Resolve safety and quality issues with safety and quality managers
- Manage construction subcontract obligations and commercial terms
- Monitor and control subordinate and subcontractor overtime
- Write the construction portion of client and monthly construction reports
- Coordinate engineering deliverables with field or home-office engineers
- Manage manufacturer’s service technicians and timesheet tracking
- Identify, assess, and support continuous improvement and change-management opportunities
Requirements
What you’ll need- 18+ years of construction supervisory experience required
- At least 5 years of previous construction manager experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or related field preferred, or relevant field experience
- OSHA training preferred
- Knowledge of construction technology, including Simple Cycle, Combined Cycle, Pulverized Coal, Circulating Fluidized Bed, and Nuclear
- Knowledge of the EPC industry
- Constructability knowledge
- Knowledge of project and department budget processes and tools
- Knowledge of project controls
