About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work as lead planner on a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) project in a field role
- Independently apply advanced project controls techniques and analyses with minimal supervision
- Lead a team of project controls professionals
- Influence internal and external clients to achieve successful results
- Forecast accurately
- Proactively address project issues to support successful project outcomes
- Lead planning and schedule preparation on complex projects
- Address contractual requirements related to schedule control
- Perform scheduling forensics as required by the business unit
- Measure progress and earned value
- Recognize critical issues and interfaces
- Confer with the project management team on project execution matters
- Participate in key risk management discussions
- Ensure compliance with tools and processes in the Field Project Controls Manual, as applicable
- Handle commercial issues and provide leadership and guidance to less experienced project control personnel
- Provide work direction as a lead person without management responsibility for assigned personnel
Requirements
What you’ll need- Four-year Bachelor's degree with six or more years of relevant Cost Control or Planning & Scheduling experience, OR no four-year Bachelor's degree required with eight years or more of relevant Cost Control or Planning & Scheduling experience in Home Office or Field Office
- Field experience preferred
- Power plant experience preferred
- Master's degree or local equivalent in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search
- Ability to work in office and construction-site environments
- Ability to work at heights above 5 feet and climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolds
- Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift
- Ability to work in hot or cold temperatures, inclement weather, extreme lighting, distracting or uncomfortable noise, and hazardous equipment environments
- Occasional travel up to 25% may be required
