About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support cybersecurity execution for a new power plant project in Beech Island, South Carolina
- Serve as the day-to-day on-site custodian for OT/ICS cybersecurity activities
- Coordinate with EPC, Owner, and vendors to secure systems, meet cybersecurity requirements, and maintain audit-ready evidence
- Report operationally to project leadership and collaborate with B&V cybersecurity stakeholders and the IA ICS Cybersecurity team
- Track requirements, planned actions, completion status, and cybersecurity program execution
- Build and maintain an organized, dated, labeled, and attributable evidence repository
- Support pre-CFAT readiness and participate in vendor CFAT activities, including travel
- Track and close cyber-related FAT punch items and capture retest and final evidence
- Verify and document MFA, least privilege, role-based access, and other access controls
- Maintain hardware/software inventories, configuration baselines, redlines, and as-built updates
- Enforce and document removable media and transient cyber asset controls
- Coordinate vendor site visit preparations and laptop/TCA scanning expectations
- Coordinate OT log onboarding to SIEM and validate logging, time synchronization, and performance
- Verify OT backups, support restoration testing, and ensure offline backup custody and storage
- Maintain cyber escalation contacts and on-site reporting procedures
- Document cybersecurity events, policy violations, corrective actions, and remediation evidence
- Track cybersecurity awareness training and verify current access authorizations
- Act as a lead person providing work direction without management responsibility
- Continue after project completion as a full-time ICS Cybersecurity Consultant supporting additional OT/ICS projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years supporting industrial/power generation control systems or OT environments
- Cybersecurity training or certifications such as Security+, GIAC, ISA/IEC 62443, or CISSP
- Practical experience with DCS/PLC/SCADA/HMI configuration and maintenance
- Knowledge of IP addressing, VLANs, firewall concepts, and routing basics
- Familiarity with NERC CIP, OT segmentation, MFA, jump hosts, and least-privilege design
- Ability to work on-site in Beech Island, SC for 9+ months, typically 40 hours per week with occasional off-hours during cutovers
- Willingness to travel to vendor facilities for CFAT support
- Eligibility to meet badging, background, and site access requirements
- Experience with SIEM, antivirus/whitelisting, vulnerability scanning, or backup tooling
- Experience supporting FAT/commissioning on large capital projects
- Strong documentation discipline and ability to produce procedures, logs, checklists, and evidence packages
- Experience working with vendors and multi-discipline teams in construction/commissioning environments
- Bachelor of Arts or Science, preferably in business, technology, or engineering, OR relevant business experience
- Minimum of 4 years related work experience
