About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and evolve technology and scalable processes for a growing, increasingly customized model portfolio business
  • Develop software, analytics, monitoring capabilities, and automated workflows across portfolio monitoring, customization, rebalancing, implementation, controls, and issue identification
  • Participate directly in portfolio monitoring, rebalancing, implementation, and other investment processes
  • Translate portfolio-management workflows into robust, scalable technical solutions with portfolio managers and engineering teams
  • Design quantitative and AI-enabled tools and workflows to improve portfolio decision-making and automate repetitive work
  • Reduce operational risk and enable portfolio managers to focus on higher-value investment decisions
  • Own technical solutions from problem definition and prototyping through implementation, adoption, enhancement, and support
  • Collaborate with investment, engineering, strategy, infrastructure, operations, and distribution teams
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and prototype approaches to inform the team’s technical strategy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong software engineering skills
  • Experience using Python or comparable programming languages
  • Experience building reliable, reusable applications, analytical tools, APIs, data-driven solutions, or scalable automated workflows
  • Knowledge of investment management, portfolio construction, portfolio analytics, financial technology, or another quantitatively oriented domain
  • Strong analytical ability to work with portfolio holdings, allocations, investment data, and large datasets
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business or investment problems into well-designed technical solutions and take them through implementation and ongoing improvement
  • Interest in applying AI and emerging technologies to real investment-management workflows
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex investment and technology concepts
  • Strong interest in portfolio management and technology
  • Ability and willingness to develop expertise across investment and software engineering disciplines
  • CFA designation or progress toward the designation is beneficial but not required
