About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build robust and maintainable web-based user interfaces with a delightful user experience
- Own feature development across front-end applications, microservices, and relational databases
- Design and develop microservices for equity portfolio construction tools for direct indexing
- Support building, releasing, and deploying software components to a Kubernetes cluster
- Modernize current components and select contemporary technologies and enterprise third-party components
- Write understandable and maintainable code
- Lead projects and initiatives
- Mentor and help grow junior team members
- Keep up to date with relevant technologies
- Participate in recruitment efforts
- Collaborate with the technology team, project management team, and end users
- Work in two-week agile development sprints
Requirements
What you’ll need- Solid knowledge of programming fundamentals—algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and paradigms
- Advanced knowledge of web development, with a solid understanding of front end and back end ecosystems
- Seasoned TypeScript/Python background or experience with related modern object-oriented languages (Java, Scala, etc.) is a plus
- Strong understanding of application architecture and distributed software ecosystems
- Five-plus years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience leading projects and teams
- Experience in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) ecosystem
- Familiarity with relational databases
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate and work effectively, supporting various business departments
- Ability to work in fast-paced interdisciplinary environment
