About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee the full scope of launch contracting, documents, deliverables, and scheduling
Develop integrated plans and schedules supporting launch testing and required artifacts
Own daily tasking and deconfliction of launch campaign activities
Develop training programs covering roles, responsibilities, test procedures, and best practices
Serve as onsite launch lead representative
Build relationships with launch providers and track longer-term vendor opportunities
Identify launch schedule and integration campaign risks and develop mitigations
Lead the release gate process for satellite flight buyoff
Interface with engineering teams to evaluate specification compliance and subsystem improvements
Track engineering action items, schedules, and design release status
Coordinate with procurement on ordering and receipt of build-to-print parts
Guide engineering teams through milestone reviews, including Preliminary Design, Critical Design, Test Readiness, early production deliveries, and launch readiness review
Manage reports and standard documentation for satellite qualification and flight testing
Interface with the system-level schedule and identify key risk-management milestones
Facilitate satellite site testing and develop training materials

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
8 years of direct Project Management Experience or related experience
Experience working complex systems with hardware and integrated software dependencies
Experience working with launch providers as a mission manager or launch integration lead
Highly skilled at managing schedules with critical dependencies and requirements or system engineering
Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% to support launch activities both in our Tukwila facility and Launch sites
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR, must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
