About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and ship features across backend services, APIs, and Next.js interfaces
Develop AI agent capabilities including prompt assembly, tool and function calling, streaming responses, and conversation state
Integrate real-time voice and messaging channels including telephony, SMS, and web
Design data models and migrations with consistency and safe change
Build background jobs and outbound processing with retry and failure handling
Instrument services with logging, metrics, and tracing
Debug issues end to end from the interface to the live conversation
Contribute ideas to the roadmap and prototype new agent capabilities
Work alongside the technical lead on integrations

Requirements

What you’ll need

2 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience
Production code that has been shipped and supported
Strong Python, including asynchronous programming with asyncio, FastAPI, or similar
Experience with React and TypeScript
Comfort with relational databases, PostgreSQL, SQL, and migrations
Hands-on experience building with LLMs, professionally or through side projects
Working knowledge of Docker and a major cloud platform; Azure preferred
Ability to read documentation, test hypotheses, and ask good questions
Nice to have: Experience with Next.js
Nice to have: Real-time media or telephony experience, including WebRTC, SIP, programmable voice, or SMS APIs
Nice to have: LLM evaluation or agent frameworks
Nice to have: Experience working within data residency or compliance requirements
