About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the technical planning and delivery of JioBLAST's live esports broadcast productions from pre-production through event execution
- Design and configure broadcast systems for online, studio, LAN and large-scale live events, including signal flow, routing, switching, monitoring, intercom and communications
- Programme and operate professional broadcast switchers, including Sony XVS, Grass Valley K-Frame and Blackmagic ATEM
- Configure and manage software-based production systems including vMix and OBS and integrate them into larger broadcast workflows
- Set up and manage cameras, routers, replay systems, intercom systems, multiviewers, audio systems and associated infrastructure
- Work with esports production teams on game feeds, observer systems, player feeds, spectator screens, replay workflows and broadcast integration
- Develop signal-flow and technical plans with primary and backup paths for critical broadcast systems
- Lead technical testing, rehearsals and pre-event commissioning
- Troubleshoot technical, signal, connectivity and equipment issues during live events
- Coordinate with venues, production vendors, network providers and equipment suppliers
- Establish technical standards, checklists and documentation for JioBLAST productions
- Identify and implement technologies and workflows improving production quality, efficiency, automation and scalability
- Train and support directors, engineers and production teams
- Monitor broadcast and esports technology developments and recommend relevant solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience in broadcast engineering, technical direction, or live production, preferably across sports, esports, entertainment, or live events
- Strong hands-on experience delivering large-scale live broadcasts using OB trucks, flight packs, or equivalent professional broadcast environments
- Practical knowledge of professional broadcast switchers such as Sony XVS, Grass Valley Kayenne/K-Frame or Blackmagic ATEM
- Strong working knowledge of vMix and OBS, including configuration, signal integration and live production workflows
- Good understanding of broadcast signal flow, routing, switching, monitoring, intercom and redundancy
- Experience with broadcast systems such as EVS/replay, cameras, intercom, routers, multiviewers and audio systems
- Experience working on esports productions, with an understanding of game capture, observer feeds, player feeds, spectator outputs and game-specific broadcast requirements
- Strong understanding of networking and connectivity as they relate to live esports and broadcast environments
- Ability to develop technical drawings, signal-flow diagrams, equipment lists and technical production plans
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm and decisive during live events
- Comfortable working with production vendors and leading technical teams on-site
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays around event schedules
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
