About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain an independent caseload of patients seeking enrollment into clinical trials
  • Assess, educate, and objectively present treatment options, including clinical trials
  • Help patients overcome obstacles to clinical trial enrollment
  • Collaborate with Information Resource Center staff to educate and support patients and family members
  • Serve as a clinical-trials consultant to the Information Resource Center
  • Support development of clinical-trial-related materials and programs
  • Maintain and increase knowledge of hematologic cancers, blood and bone marrow transplant, and psychosocial aspects of living with cancer
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Clinical Trial Support Center procedures
  • Develop effective relationships with Blood Cancer United, trial-site staff, investigators, sponsors, patients, and professional organizations
  • Apply ethical standards and federal regulations governing human-subjects research

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
  • Current RN licensure required
  • Oncology experience preferred
  • Specialty training in Oncology/Hematology preferred
  • OCN certification preferred
  • Clinical research experience preferred
  • Master’s degree preferred; Master’s degree in a non-nursing area considered
  • Ability and desire to excel in independent work and in a team environment
  • Spanish speaking preferred
  • Outstanding critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to independent learning and skill enhancement
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and OneNote
  • Reliable internet with minimum download and upload speeds of 50 Mbps
