About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and maintain reporting and data analysis solutions for financial and clinical outcomes, network performance, care management, claims processing, operations, medical costs, utilization, authorization, risk adjustment, and claims data
- Partner with business leaders, Finance, departments, and subject matter experts to fulfill data requests and support data-driven decision-making
- Design and code queries and data sets using structured programming techniques and appropriate reporting platforms
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Business Intelligence reports, dashboards, visualizations, and analytical insights using tools such as Tableau, Qlik Sense, Qlik View, and Power BI
- Gather and document business requirements, develop work plans, execute unit tests, resolve processing issues, and track project status
- Participate in the Systems Development Life Cycle, data governance, quality programs, source-control procedures, and operational/disaster-recovery procedures
- Monitor, refresh, and distribute scheduled reports and data extracts
- Prepare technical, production-support, project, and reporting documentation
- Lead or participate in projects, presentations, process improvements, and decision-support tool development according to level
- Review code and reporting for standards, accuracy, functionality, and compliance
- Mentor lower-level employees and conduct training according to level
- For Level 6: lead stand-ups, oversee DevOps work queues and project requests, address roadblocks, respond to client reporting questions, and ensure outgoing reporting quality and accuracy
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 years of experience working with data, report development, and analysis in a workplace setting (all levels)
- 1 year of experience in query design and effective reporting design structure (all levels)
- High-school diploma or GED (all levels)
- For Levels 2–3: 4 years of experience working with data, report development, and analysis, and 3 years in query design and reporting structure
- For Levels 4–6: 8 years of experience working with data, report development, and analysis, and 6 years in query design and reporting structure
- For Levels 4–6: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and/or experience in a pertinent field
- Intermediate proficiency in T-SQL, SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, Visual Studio, SSDT, and Redgate
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, SQL databases, table/view/stored procedure development, query tuning, enterprise data modeling, data normalization, and schema management
- Knowledge of decision support systems, business intelligence, programming, and data analysis software
- Knowledge of Qlik Sense, Qlik View, Tableau, and Power BI
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Pivot, external connections, DAX/MDX, Visual Basic, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Functional proficiency in requirements analysis and gathering, scoping, project management, SDLC, and IS-environment documentation
- Basic proficiency in data mining and general data analysis
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work with limited supervision
- For Levels 4–6: ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and manage relationships with internal partners
