About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Answer Medicare members’ questions and solve their problems
- Explain medical and dental packages
- Guide members to appropriate answers and resolutions
- Provide excellent service in an unscripted service center environment
- Take member calls for the majority of each week
- Participate in learning, development, and research activities
- Attend new-hire training on the health insurance industry
- Work scheduled 37.5-hour weeks
- Follow training and post-training flex schedules
- Establish and maintain an appropriate remote physical work environment
- Participate by video in trainings and meetings
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ years customer service experience with frequent communication by phone, email, and/or in person
- Strong familiarity and comfort with technology, including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and software
- Must live in the New England area
- Frequent speaking and phone work with Medicare members
- Ability to use a headset in a quiet environment
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for long periods
- Ability to establish an ergonomically comfortable remote work environment
- Ability to adhere to BCBSMA’s Hybrid Working Guidelines, including video participation in trainings and meetings
