About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead geological database and GIS management activities across exploration and development projects
  • Maintain geological, drilling, sampling, assay, survey, and spatial datasets
  • Support data acquisition, integration, visualization, and interpretation
  • Develop and improve geological data workflows, standards, documentation, and governance processes
  • Maintain data validation, version control, backups, and quality assurance practices
  • Implement and maintain geological data QA/QC procedures consistent with NI 43-101 requirements
  • Review datasets for data gaps, inconsistencies, and quality issues
  • Support technical reporting, resource evaluation, technical studies, and due diligence
  • Provide GIS analysis and geological data support to exploration and development teams
  • Compile, integrate, and interpret geological and spatial information
  • Prepare maps, figures, presentations, data packages, and other technical materials
  • Provide technical guidance on geological databases, GIS systems, and digital geological workflows
  • Collaborate with geologists, engineers, consultants, and technical professionals across multiple projects and jurisdictions
  • Identify improvements to data quality, system functionality, reporting efficiency, and data management practices
  • Support improved digital tools, workflows, and technologies
  • Promote and adhere to safety, environmental, social, and operational standards
  • Travel periodically to project sites within the United States may be required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Geology, GIS, Geomatics, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in geological data management, GIS, exploration, mining, or a related technical environment
  • Experience with geological databases and GIS applications in the mining or mineral exploration industry
  • Knowledge of geological data structures, drilling and sampling data, assay databases, spatial datasets, and exploration workflows
  • Experience with QA/QC processes and geological data validation
  • Familiarity with NI 43-101 technical reporting requirements and Canadian mineral exploration standards
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage large and complex datasets
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency with GIS software, preferably ArcGIS Pro and/or QGIS
  • Experience with geological database platforms such as acQuire, MX Deposit, or similar systems
  • Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases, or data management tools is an asset
  • Experience with data visualization, spatial analysis, and map production
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
