About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the Mk1 Vehicle Electrical Harness Design team
  • Develop wiring interconnect diagrams (WID), harness assembly drawings, and harness installation drawings
  • Own the vehicle harness scope and ensure cost-effective execution while maintaining required deliverables
  • Identify and manage technical, scope, cost, schedule, asset, and safety risks and opportunities
  • Track team execution, deliverable schedules, and hardware costs
  • Create frameworks for collecting project data and use it to monitor key project metrics
  • Identify process improvement opportunities
  • Develop and oversee the technical plan aligned with vehicle system/customer requirements and internal design criteria
  • Own the MK1 vehicle harness lifecycle from development through integration and verification to production operations
  • Support design configuration development and trade studies
  • Support cable and harness assembly and testing
  • Oversee employee talent acquisition, development, and performance management
  • Foster continuous growth and learning while ensuring compliance with HR processes and policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven track record of leading and managing teams to deliver harness or other complex engineering subsystems or products
  • B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Computer Engineering, or related technical subject area
  • 10+ years of experience designing wire harnesses for the aerospace industry
  • Familiarity with Creo, Zuken, or Windchill
  • Design for manufacturability experience
  • Project management experience
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of harness fabrication and installation processes
  • Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft electrical/mechanical systems
  • Experience with resource/budget management and reporting
  • Experience with Agile, IMP-level scheduling, risk management, configuration management, and requirements management processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement
  • U.S. citizenship or nationality, U.S. permanent residency, or lawful admission to the U.S. as a refugee or person granted asylum
  • Successful completion of Blue’s Standard Background Check
