About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop strategic procurement solutions and perform day-to-day tactical purchasing for spaceflight systems
- Prioritize and execute program requirements to meet Blue Origin’s needs
- Prepare and issue Requests for Proposal and Requests for Quote
- Perform cost analysis supporting proposals
- Develop negotiation strategies and lead formal negotiations
- Construct contracting types for major propellant activities and scheduling
- Create long-range procurement agreements and sourcing partnerships
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and identify efficiency opportunities
- Own the procurement and scheduling process from requisition creation through propellant scheduling, purchase order completion, and final invoice payment
- Resolve procurement and scheduling issues
- Identify, implement, negotiate, execute, and manage strategic agreements, including LTAs and VMI
- Support procurement strategy and corporate objectives
- Deliver production materials on time, within budget, and meeting technical performance requirements
- Ensure timely completion of supply chain projects and initiatives
- Maintain compliant and accurate files and data records
- Create and maintain systems and processes to streamline operations and monitor delivery schedules
- Manage on-time and late purchase orders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree with minimum 5 years of experience or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience
- Degree in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related specialty to supply chain management
- Interpret and apply company policies, procedures, work instructions, business standards, and U.S. government regulations, including FAR, DFAR, and SOX Compliance
- Background in purchasing and negotiation of net payment terms, raw materials costs, and services
- Strong supplier management and KPI maintenance
- Strong analytical skills and experience establishing and tracking program metrics
- Knowledge of propellant commodities
- Knowledge of initiation, review, and negotiation of Riders, Leases, Rental Agreements, MSAs, and PSAs
- Excellent people, oral, written, and communication skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, multitask, and prioritize workload
- Ability to work in ambiguous environments and define scalable processes
- Ability to work with different systems and recommend system and process improvements
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Certification desired
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification desired
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident/current Green Card holder, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- Required to complete Blue’s Standard Background Check
- Additional DBIDS background check may be required for roles involving military installations
- Merchant Mariner Credential may be required for certain job profiles
