About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and execute test plans, procedures, and test reports for electronic hardware and systems
- Collaborate with Electrical Design and Embedded Systems teams throughout the hardware development lifecycle
- Develop and maintain automated and manual test equipment and test setups
- Identify, document, and drive resolution of hardware anomalies and failures
- Support design reviews, including participation in test readiness reviews (TRRs)
- Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes and methodologies
- Ensure compliance with program requirements and applicable standards
- Work within Blue Origin's In-Space Systems business unit, focused on space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; or extensive relevant work experience
- 8+ years of relevant experience in electronics test engineering, manufacturing, or assembly
- Experience developing and executing comprehensive test plans, test procedures, and test reports for electronic hardware and systems
- Experience with verification and validation methodologies and requirements traceability
- Familiarity with qualification, acceptance, and proto-qualification test campaigns
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or similar
- Experience performing environmental testing including thermal, vibration, and EMI/EMC
- Proficiency with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and data acquisition systems
- Proficiency with test automation tools and scripting, such as Python or LabVIEW
- Strong understanding of digital and analog circuit design and troubleshooting
- Experience with Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action Systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Preferred: Active Top Secret security clearance
- Preferred: Experience supporting COMSEC or communications systems hardware
- Preferred: Familiarity with embedded systems development and integration
- Preferred: Experience with configuration management tools and processes such as Git or SVN
- Preferred: Experience developing test documentation according to MIL-STD-461, NASA GEVS, DO-160, or similar
- Preferred: Experience conducting Design Verification Tests and Production Acceptance Tests
- Preferred: Knowledge of IPC standards for electronic assemblies and workmanship
- Preferred: Experience in aerospace, defense, or other safety-critical industries
- Required to complete Blue's Standard Background Check
