About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop flight software and tools for spaceflight systems
  • Contribute to safety-critical, real-time embedded software development
  • Work on vehicle avionics and ground systems
  • Own requirements, design, implementation, integration, and testing of software components and tools
  • Support the development and operations of New Glenn, a reusable heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle
  • Help create software enabling New Glenn to carry people and payloads to Earth orbit and beyond
  • Collaborate as part of the New Glenn Avionics Software organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related subject area
  • 5+ years of experience writing software in C, C++, and Python
  • 2+ years of experience in embedded software, kernel development, BSPs, or other systems software components
  • Solid understanding of operating systems and network protocol fundamentals
  • U.S. citizenship or nationality, U.S. permanent residency, or lawful admission to the U.S. as a refugee or asylee
  • Ability to pass Blue’s Standard Background Check
  • Preferred: M.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field
  • Preferred: Experience with real-time operating systems
  • Preferred: Experience with safety-critical software development in aerospace, automotive, or other industries
  • Preferred: Experience developing software that interfaces directly with hardware components and programmable logic
