Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop tools to design, build, deploy, and support simulation infrastructure
  • Develop and integrate multidisciplinary models for a multi-vehicle simulation using C/C++, Rust, Simulink, and NASA’s TRICK framework
  • Collaboratively deliver simulations to customers to inform decisions and ensure requirements are met
  • Interact with engineers across disciplines to assist with and ensure model validation
  • Work with software-in-the-loop simulations, hardware-in-the-loop labs, and on-vehicle simulations
  • Support development of subsystem boundaries, interfaces, and technical performance measures
  • Apply best practices, balanced technical judgment, and a strong work ethic to support safe human spaceflight

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science
  • 2+ years of software development and debugging experience, particularly in C/C++, Rust, and Simulink
  • Experience modeling GN&C components and analyzing GN&C subsystem or component performance via simulation, testing, or analytical methods
  • Familiarity with rigid body dynamics, fluid mechanics, and first-principles physics-based mathematical models
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and Continuous Integration pipelines such as GitLab
  • Experience with configuration management
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident/current Green Card holder, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

  • Desired but not required: MS or higher degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Desired but not required: strong debugging at the software/hardware boundary and familiarity with software verification approaches
  • Desired but not required: experience developing software for hardware-in-the-loop testing
  • Desired but not required: familiarity with auto-coding Simulink to C++
  • Desired but not required: strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Desired but not required: familiarity with verification and validation of aerospace simulations and models
  • Desired but not required: familiarity developing and maintaining simulation models including plant physics, sensors, and actuators
  • Desired but not required: familiarity with DO-178, DO-160, DO-254, or similar guidelines
  • Desired but not required: experience using AI to augment workflows, processes, and analysis
