About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define system autonomy behaviors and software requirements with systems engineers, developers, and program managers
  • Lead team members on software systems engineering best practices
  • Set team direction and goals for requirements development, verification events, and test cases
  • Manage hardware-software integration problems across vehicle and mission design teams
  • Ensure software behavior is properly captured through the safety-critical software development process
  • Collaborate with software development engineers and other discipline teams across Lunar programs
  • Contribute to long-term product vision and strategy for sustainable lunar missions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. or higher degree in computer science, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience
  • Experience developing software requirements, verification plans, and test cases
  • Experience working across systems and software disciplines and leading cross-functional groups
  • Experience in spacecraft design and operations
  • Experience with fault management design
  • Experience with scripting languages, Python, and/or JavaScript
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident/current Green Card holder, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
  • Experience reviewing software architecture, design, and code
  • Experience developing test scripts and verification analysis reports
  • Experience with System Safety Assessments and reviewing safety artifacts
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Aerospace industry experience with safety-critical software and/or tools qualification activities
  • Experience with NPR 7150.2D
  • Experience with compiled languages, C/C++
  • Required Blue’s Standard Background Check
