About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop strategic procurement solutions and perform day-to-day tactical purchasing for spaceflight systems
- Prioritize and execute program requirements to meet Blue Origin needs
- Prepare and issue Requests for Proposal and Requests for Quote
- Perform cost analysis supporting proposals
- Develop negotiation strategies and lead formal negotiations
- Construct contracting types for major procurement activities, including long-range procurement agreements and sourcing partnerships
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and enhanced efficiency
- Own the procurement process from requisition creation through final invoice payment
- Resolve issues throughout the procurement process
- Identify, implement, negotiate, execute, and manage strategic agreements such as Long-Term Agreements
- Support procurement organization strategic direction and corporate objectives
- Deliver production materials on time, within budget, and according to technical performance requirements
- Ensure supply chain compliance standards, strategies, and initiatives are followed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 7 years of experience in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related industry experience
- Interpret and apply company policies, procedures, work instructions, business standards, and U.S. government regulations including FAR, DFAR, and SOX Compliance
- Ensure timely and effective completion of supply chain department projects and initiatives
- Maintain compliant and accurate files and data records
- Strong analytical, data-driven skills with experience establishing and tracking program metrics
- Create and maintain systems and processes to streamline operations
- Strong people and communication skills
- Working understanding of AS9100 standards
- Knowledge of engineering data, including specifications and source control drawings
- Ability to identify opportunities, find solutions, execute plans, and evaluate results critically and expediently
- Highly analytical and critical-thinking abilities
- Ability to solve problems end-to-end
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, multitask, and prioritize workload
- Experience working in an ambiguous environment and defining scalable processes
- Ability to work with different systems and recommend system and process improvements
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident/current Green Card holder, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) certification desired
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired
- Current active DOD Secret Security Clearance and/or Special Access desired
