About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the design, build, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure for the Vehicle Test Bench (VTB) and Flatsat
  • Design and install rack wiring, cable harnesses, and signal routing; maintain as-built wiring documentation
  • Integrate flight hardware, simulators, EGSE, and breakout boxes into the bench
  • Verify physical and electrical interfaces against ICDs
  • Verify power distribution, grounding, shielding, and signal integrity
  • Support power budget validation
  • Provide design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-test (DFT) feedback on connector accessibility, test point placement, harness routability, and mate/demate cycle life
  • Support electrical interface verification with the Electrical Test team
  • Maintain ESD compliance, FOD prevention discipline, and torque verification records
  • Coordinate with EGSE Electrical Engineers on signal integrity, grounding, and interface requirements
  • Investigate bench electrical faults and perform root cause analysis
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input on electrical testability and manufacturing feasibility

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, Electronics Technology, or a closely related field
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical integration, avionics test, harness design/installation, or bench/GSE build in an aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics environment
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, connector pinouts, and interface control documents (ICDs)
  • Hands-on experience with harness fabrication, connector assembly, and rack wiring in a production or laboratory environment
  • Experience verifying power distribution, grounding, shielding, and signal integrity on complex electrical assemblies
  • Familiarity with ESD controls and workmanship standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620 or equivalent)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to coordinate across mechanical, electrical, and test disciplines
  • Export-control eligibility: U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee
  • Required Blue’s Standard Background Check
  • Preferred: spacecraft or launch vehicle GSE, Flatsat, or test bench integration experience
  • Preferred: high-density connector systems such as D-Sub or MIL-DTL-38999
  • Preferred: DFM/DFT feedback in formal design reviews
  • Preferred: CAD/EDA tools such as Zuken E3 or CATIA Harness
  • Preferred: high-rate production environment experience
  • Preferred: familiarity with MIL-STD-461, ECSS, or NASA-STD-8739 standards
