About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain avionics electrical test hardware, test plans, and verification cross-reference matrices for spaceflight avionics components
  • Derive electrical test requirements from system specifications, ICDs, schematics, and safety requirements
  • Specify and design avionics test equipment to meet manufacturing rate
  • Coordinate with Systems, Production, and Design Engineers to define interface test requirements
  • Own hardware test procedure development, review, and approval from initial draft through qualification and acceptance
  • Lead bench-level, vehicle-level, and pre-launch electrical test campaigns, including power-on, functional verification, harness continuity, and EMI/EMC testing
  • Lead anomaly investigation and resolution for electrical test discrepancies, including root-cause analysis and corrective action through closure
  • Partner with manufacturing and production engineering to integrate test infrastructure with production flow, tooling, and vehicle build sequence
  • Identify and drive test automation, instrumentation, and data acquisition infrastructure to reduce cycle time
  • Design scalable electrical test and support equipment for repeatable, high-throughput execution across multiple vehicles
  • Design electrical test interfaces for producibility, including standardized GSE connectors and modular test racks
  • Drive production metrics including unit-to-unit test time, first-pass yield, and anomaly rate
  • Develop avionics expertise and support the TeraWave satellite system from concept through qualification, verification, integration, and flight support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical test, avionics integration and test, or vehicle electrical systems verification
  • Demonstrated experience leading electrical test campaigns with flight hardware
  • Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and data acquisition systems
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment, including signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and attenuators
  • Experience specifying and building electrical ground support equipment
  • Experience developing and executing test procedures from system-level specifications and ICDs
  • Ability to lead technical teams and coordinate across disciplines under schedule pressure
  • U.S. citizenship or nationality, U.S. permanent residency, or lawful admission to the U.S. as a refugee or asylee
  • Required to complete Blue's Standard Background Check
  • Preferred: Master's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Preferred: Experience with launch vehicles, spacecraft, or highly integrated electrical systems
  • Preferred: Background in electrical test planning
  • Preferred: Experience integrating with GPS/GNSS simulators and assessing RF link performance
  • Preferred: Experience with automated test frameworks and scripting for electrical test sequencing and data collection
  • Preferred: Experience scaling an electrical test program from development to production
  • Preferred: Background in Design for Testability principles and participation in design reviews as a test team representative
  • Preferred: Previous lead or management experience in a test or integration organization
