About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and develop scalable reporting, dashboards, and RESTful services using Python, TypeScript, SQL, and other tools
- Develop automated processes integrating disparate systems to generate engineering-level reporting
- Develop analytical data models supporting standardized metrics
- Maintain documentation, run books, data dictionaries, and guides
- Work with partners and domain specialists to generate reporting, application, and integration requirements
- Maintain day-to-day workflow and communication with partners across the company
- Build and maintain distributed services and UIs for distributed engineering platforms
- Support quality, schedule, and configuration-management standards used by avionics engineers
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of experience working as a software developer in a professional environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or experience commensurate with education requirements
- Proven expertise in Python, TypeScript, Ruby, C#, or another general-purpose programming language
- Demonstrated ownership of services or internal or external products
- Back-end expertise creating web servers and APIs with Python, Node.js, or other server-side web frameworks
- Front-end skills including HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6, TypeScript, JSX, React), UX/UI design, data visualization, front-end styling frameworks, and REST/GraphQL APIs
- Database proficiency writing sophisticated SQL queries with many joins in highly normalized databases and designing normalized database schemas
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills
- Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of version control systems, CI/CD workflows, and test-driven development
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Self-starter with strong bias for action
- U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee
- Required Blue’s Standard Background Check
