About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform detailed hand calculations and FEM analysis of secondary aerospace structures for design and production support
  • Drive hardware discrepancies to resolution, including dispositioning manufacturing nonconformances
  • Document stress analysis to support release of engineering drawings and documents
  • Assess damage or out-of-tolerance conditions and provide repair or use guidance
  • Provide technical guidance on design concepts considering risk, cost, and performance
  • Maintain and report technical status
  • Prepare and present technical content to internal and external customers
  • Support cross-organizational teams with production activities and configuration development
  • Perform analysis checks for designers and junior structural analysts in stress, stability, fracture analysis, and best practices
  • Improve enterprise analysis capabilities by creating process automation tools for model creation, strength checks, and analysis report generation
  • Perform peer reviews of analyses and reports
  • Provide structural analysis guidance to design engineers and junior structural analysts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree or higher in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience within aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures
  • Experience with analyzing/dispositioning non-conformances
  • Complete hand calculations
  • Thorough understanding of structural analysis and load paths
  • Deep understanding of repair methods and analytical practices for metallic structures
  • Ability to perform technical assessments of damage or out-of-tolerance conditions and provide guidance on repair or use
  • Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
