About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute verification and functional test procedures on the Vehicle Test Bench, Flatsat, and HIL environment
- Drive test procedures through internal review and release
- Set up bench configurations, operate GSE, and execute assigned test sequences
- Monitor real-time telemetry and document test results
- Capture test anomalies for root cause investigation, track anomaly status, and support disposition
- Author test reports summarizing results, anomalies, and open items
- Incorporate procedure red-line mark-ups and update documentation after test execution
- Support test campaign planning by coordinating bench availability, hardware readiness, and test equipment configuration
- Coordinate with subsystem engineers on test objectives and pass/fail criteria
- Maintain ESD discipline, bench cleanliness, and configuration accountability
- Identify improvements to procedures, cycle time, and test coverage; escalate recommendations to senior engineers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field
- 2+ years of experience in hardware test, system integration, or functional test in aerospace, defense, electronics, or a closely related field
- Experience developing or executing formal test procedures in a controlled documentation environment
- Ability to operate standard test equipment and interpret data against defined pass/fail criteria
- Familiarity with anomaly reporting and configuration management processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to write clear, complete test reports
- Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- Required background check: Blue's Standard Background Check
- Experience with spacecraft, satellite, or launch vehicle testing at bench, component, or subsystem level
- Background with HIL or Flatsat test environments
- Familiarity with automated test tools such as Python scripting, LabVIEW, GSEOS, or COSMOS
- Experience with SpaceWire, CAN, MIL-STD-1553, or RS-422
- Familiarity with ESD controls and aerospace workmanship standards
- Experience using PDM/PLM systems for procedure control, such as Windchill
