About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support execution of space vehicle-level development and qualification environmental test campaigns, including TVAC, vibration, acoustic, and functional testing
  • Perform assigned test steps and accurately record results under senior test engineer supervision
  • Assist with hardware setup, cable reconfigurations, test fixture assembly, and consumables management
  • Perform pre-test and post-test equipment checks, functional verifications, and visual inspections
  • Support environmental test article installation and de-installation in test chambers and on vibration fixtures
  • Document test anomalies and promptly escalate off-nominal observations
  • Incorporate procedure red-line markups and update documentation after test execution
  • Maintain bench orderliness, configuration accountability, and ESD/FOD compliance
  • Participate in test briefings, anomaly reviews, and lessons-learned sessions
  • Develop competency in test operations, environmental test methods, and data interpretation under mentorship

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field
  • 0–2 years of experience in hardware test, vehicle integration, test support, or a related hands-on technical role; relevant internship or co-op experience accepted
  • Ability to follow detailed technical procedures carefully and completely
  • Eagerness to learn spacecraft test operations, environmental test methods, and bench procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data recording
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to document observations clearly
  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident/current Green Card holder, or lawfully admitted U.S. refugee or asylee
  • Required to complete Blue’s Standard Background Check
  • Preferred: internship or project experience with spacecraft, launch vehicles, or complex mechanical/electrical systems test
  • Preferred: exposure to thermal, vibration, acoustic, or vacuum-chamber testing
  • Preferred: familiarity with test instrumentation and data acquisition systems
  • Preferred: academic or project background with aerospace structures, avionics, or vehicle systems
  • Preferred: experience with ESD-sensitive hardware handling
  • Preferred: familiarity with configuration management or document control tools
