About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain the general ledger account structure according to departmental procedures
- Review and prepare monthly general journal entries and maintain documentation
- Review financial documents for accuracy and perform account reconciliations
- Analyze financial data for monthly financial statements and provide recommendations
- Ensure financial records comply with GAAP
- Generate financial reports
- Collaborate with internal departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support
- Prepare reconciliations and schedules for interim and annual audits
- Analyze and enter fixed-asset additions, disposals, and retirements; prepare asset reconciliations and reports
- Work with the Corporate Controller on the Capital Access Team
- Train end users on Axiom Capital Tracking software and reporting
- Track project expenses with project managers
- Prepare daily cash tracking/projection reports and perform cash-related ledger entries and reconciliations
- Work with the Director of Treasury on cash processes and issues
- Perform annual internal audits at deposit locations
- Assist with other Finance functions as necessary to support the Finance Team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, or High School Diploma or equivalent PLUS five (5) or more years of relevant experience
- Eligibility to work in the United States and meet Virginia state employment requirements
- Advanced knowledge of a specialized or technical field or thorough knowledge of professional field practices and techniques
- Maintains professional accounting skills and knowledge through related training, courses, or journal information
- Preferred: prior experience in a hospital, healthcare system, or related service-oriented environment
- Familiarity with Augusta Health’s systems, workflows, or organizational culture is a plus
