About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead complex, enterprise-scale web development initiatives
  • Champion Agile methodologies while managing delivery of large-scale websites and web applications
  • Serve as the bridge between business strategy and technical execution
  • Own day-to-day project scope, schedule, budget, and team morale
  • Partner with Product Owners to translate business requirements into clear technical user stories
  • Plan and run projects from strategy through launch
  • Manage scope, budget, timeline, and CMS delivery for complex WordPress and Drupal builds
  • Manage timelines end to end and clear daily roadblocks
  • Serve as primary point of contact for senior stakeholders
  • Report on project progress, budget, scope, and risk
  • Lead sprint planning, standups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
  • Identify and clear technical, resource, and process blockers across design, front-end, and back-end workflows
  • Maintain ticketing, roadmaps, and planning tools including Jira and GitHub Projects
  • Apply Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies as project demands require
  • Monitor project health and support accessibility, QA, and security checkpoints
  • Coach junior producers and coordinators on Agile/Scrum best practices
  • Contribute estimates, staffing plans, and production insight to pitches and RFPs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years managing web production, digital products, or technical projects, including large, content-rich institutional sites
  • Experience with CMS-based projects
  • Familiarity with WordPress and/or Drupal strongly preferred
  • Hands-on Agile/Scrum experience, including sprint planning, backlog management, user stories, and retrospectives
  • Judgment to flex to Waterfall or hybrid methodologies
  • Proficiency with Jira, GitHub, or similar tools
  • Technical fluency across APIs, hosting environments, deployment workflows, integrations, and content/database migrations
  • Strong client and stakeholder management, including clear communication of budget, scope, risk, and tradeoffs
  • Meticulous organization and clear communication under pressure
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) nice to have
  • Experience with mission-driven or cultural clients nice to have
  • CSM/CSPO certification nice to have, not required
