About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform all phases of application systems analysis and design
- Analyze systems specifications and develop applications supporting information systems processes
- Prepare detailed specifications for complex programs
- Design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain programs
- Formulate scope and objectives through research to develop or modify complex systems
- Ensure team members understand business requirements and that organizational standards and project timelines are met
- Provide expert system knowledge, perform research, attend meetings, and review documents
- Maintain and modify programs according to specifications
- Code, compile, and implement application software on time and within budget
- Evaluate interrelationships in the immediate programming area to assess the impact of program changes
- Test modified programs, create test files and data, verify logic, debug, and write documentation
- Analyze production systems, recommend enhancements, instruct production support teams, research customer issues, determine resolutions, and coordinate implementations
- Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems
- Develop functional designs, technical specifications, concept diagrams, workflow diagrams, and related data-processing procedures
- Document programs and procedures
- Work in a customer-focused, project-oriented programming environment
- Support a fast-paced, multiplatform environment that may require 24x7 response to technical business needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- U.S. citizenship required to obtain the required clearance
- Position is not eligible for sponsorship now or in the future
- Bachelor's in a job related field
- Alternatively, an associate degree plus an extra 2 years of job-related experience for a total of 6 years of required work experience, or 8 total years of required work experience
- 4 years of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience
- Strong understanding of application development, quality assurance, and integration methodologies, concepts, and facilities in mainframe, midrange, web, and/or PC/LAN environments
- Strong analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Logical abstract thinking and ability to assimilate and adhere to project goals and deadlines
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal and team-building skills
- Familiarity with project management concepts
- Attention to detail
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients, and vendors
- Strong knowledge of relevant operating systems, programming languages, and development tools
- Preferred: experience with ExtraHop, Splunk, or AppDynamics
- Preferred: hands-on experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, SonarQube, and Artifactory
- Preferred: experience with Python, JavaScript/Node.js, TypeScript, Groovy, or similar technologies
- Preferred: experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes
- Preferred: experience leading platform upgrades, migrations, and enterprise technology implementations
