About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work across the enterprise to advance business technical solutions
Provide technical direction to enterprise projects and ensure desired technical business outcomes
Apply deep technical knowledge to design business solutions
Provide guidance and approval of technology roadmaps supporting infrastructure
Influence strategic technology initiatives through consultation on emerging technologies and solutions
Lead facilitation, analysis, and design tasks for enterprise technical architecture
Consult with technical resources to identify skills needed for public cloud service offerings and hybrid cloud solutions
Research and evaluate industry data to ensure technology strategies align with business needs
Learn, understand, and communicate emerging technologies through various methods
Liaise with cloud vendors to coordinate externally hosted services while meeting security, compliance, and audit requirements
Lead cross-functional discussions to assess business needs, vendor solutions, and technical appropriateness
Build trusted relationships with key personnel across the organization
Work with vendors and IS/business influencers to develop roadmaps, white papers, and position papers
Approve and manage technical roadmaps and project-level artifacts
Provide input on technical architectural standards with IT and lines of business

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree required
Associates degree plus an extra 2 years of job-related work experience for a total of 11 years of required work experience, or 13 total years of required work experience
9 years related IT experience and 2 years in corporate planning or strategic development (can be concurrent)
Must have technical, industry and business relationships to achieve business goals through technology
Strong communication, presentation and relationship building skills
Strong writing skills to develop analysis work products, white papers, and responses to organizational queries on technology

Preferred: IBM z/OS storage environments
Preferred: Creating storage management utilization reports
Preferred: Initialization and configuration of DASD devices
Preferred: DFSMSdss full volume and logical dataset dump and restore
Preferred: Coding SMS ACS routines
Preferred: ISMF, HSM configuration and administration, SMS storage group utilization, RMM configuration and administration
Preferred: Working knowledge of Dino Software T-REX and UDM software products
Preferred: Working knowledge of Luminex Mainframe Virtual Tape (MVT), storage pools, LSCRUP process, and Luminex GUI
Preferred: Exposure with IBM TDMF for z/OS
Preferred: Working knowledge of DELL EMC PowerMax and SRDF replication
Preferred: Exploitation of zEDC
Preferred: Master's Degree
Preferred: 11 years related IT experience and 4 years in corporate planning or strategic development (can be concurrent)
