About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work closely with Regional Sales/Account Management Directors to implement plans and strategies with 13 Blue partners across the nation
  • Build brand identity by representing National Alliance at national conventions and fairs, with opportunities for speaking engagements
  • Expand partner relationships and serve as an internal liaison to key support areas
  • Build metrics to measure successes and gaps in partner plans and help align team resources
  • Communicate with Partner Plans to manage mutual goals and objectives
  • Assess and implement resource and training needs for Partner Plan staff
  • Establish and maintain a visible field presence with staff and plans
  • Monitor marketplace trends, competitors, BlueCross BlueShield Association initiatives, and product design
  • Share marketplace data with senior management and Partner Plans
  • Manage Partner Plan distribution-channel relationships, including legal, policy, procedure, and issue resolution matters
  • Coordinate Partner Plan meetings, including executive oversight, steering, quarterly, and semiannual account-management meetings
  • Communicate with staff and management regarding information needed to achieve goals
  • Monitor performance metrics and distribute them to Partner Plans
  • Complete reporting requirements within specified time periods

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6 years sales and marketing experience including 1-year lead or supervisory experience or equivalent military experience in grade E4 or above
  • Comprehensive knowledge of products, procedures, systems, marketing, and National Alliance
  • Basic understanding of enrollment/underwriting guidelines
  • Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and make sound decisions
  • Excellent judgment skills
  • Strong customer service, organizational, presentation skills with proven ability to manage projects/work teams
  • Proficiency in spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills
  • Analytical or critical thinking skills
  • Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to direct, motivate, and assess performance of others
  • Ability to use standard office equipment
  • Current South Carolina Department of Insurance License or the ability to acquire within 4 months of date hired
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of National Health Plans
  • Knowledge of selling ancillary products
  • Strong attention to details
