  • Rapidly prototype and iterate on multiple design solutions
  • Create user interface design artifacts describing the intended user experience

  • Conduct user research activities and task flow analysis
  • Synthesize research findings into recommendations and actionable results

  • Collaborate across business and application development teams
  • Advocate for users and understand how audiences interact with applications
  • Evangelize user experience best practices
  • Collaborate with customers and internal team members to validate conceptual designs
  • Provide support and documentation to maintain application usability integrity
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and establish standards, best practices, and processes
  • Stay current on user-centered design practices, innovations, trends, and methodologies
  • Work closely with the Digital Implementation Lead and Digital Experience team to translate customer needs, business goals, and product strategy into digital solutions
  • Participate in projects end to end, including research, testing, concept development, prototyping, UI copywriting, developer support, and UI standards compliance
  • Share knowledge with team members, elevate UX maturity, and participate in bringing AI tools into the workflow
  • Design primarily for the health insurance portal and app used by members across the country

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a job-related field, or 4 years job-related work experience, or Associate's degree and 2 years job-related work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of user interface design experience
  • 7 years of experience preferred
  • 2+ years designing transactional consumer-facing products in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or another highly regulated complex domain preferred
  • Ability to work with a product owner and diverse stakeholders to define complex business requirements within legacy technical systems
  • Skill delivering high-quality Figma mocks and prototypes, including responsive layouts, conditional states, documentation, and accessibility requirements
  • Capability for mentoring and reviewing other designers
  • Experience performing UX research and usability testing
  • Ability to write user-focused UI copy
  • Strong technical knowledge of UX and usability best practices and methodologies
  • Strong understanding of page layout and interface design concepts
  • Understanding of HTML/CSS and optimizing design concepts around these technologies
  • Understanding of graphic design and typography
  • Advanced analytical and research skills
  • Ability to interpret data and make recommendations
  • Strong conceptual problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with graphic design software and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts during 8:00 AM–5:00 PM business hours
  • Finalists must complete a short, on-camera design exercise
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business staff
