About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Formulate and define system scope and objectives through research
Design, develop, modify, or integrate moderately complex information systems
Devise or modify application systems and procedures to optimize functional requirements, including capacity, operating time, response time, and desired results
Design, code, test, debug, and document programs, subroutines, and scripts
Work across application systems analysis phases and maintain technical skills in software languages, databases, platforms, and operating systems
Respond to system failures and performance events to reduce downtime and prevent recurrence
Provide services to multiple project teams or management staff
Guide less-experienced programmers and conduct presentations for end users
Serve as project lead, business systems analyst, or technical lead for small to medium efforts
Collaborate across teams and share knowledge

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required
Equivalent years of experience are determined as one year of technical experience for every year of college requested
2 years of programming experience required
1 year of experience with information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards required
1 year of expert working knowledge of at least one programming language in use at BCBST
Proven skill with information technology in use at BCBST required
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work with JavaScript, Node.js, React, Next.js, SQL queries, and WebAPIs
Experience with Facets and Sitecore is advantageous
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across teams
Interest in learning new technologies and solving complex problems
Exposure to project management or work management activities preferred
