About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a team of cloud engineers and subject matter experts enabling, governing, and advancing the multi-cloud ecosystem across Azure and GCP
  • Shape cloud strategy and accelerate enterprise AI adoption
  • Ensure secure and scalable delivery of enterprise technology solutions
  • Partner with architects, engineering teams, security leaders, and business stakeholders on cloud and AI modernization initiatives
  • Lead operational excellence programs and AI transformation efforts, including AI Workflow Engineering
  • Establish best practices and influence technology decisions
  • Mentor engineering talent and develop staff
  • Manage day-to-day team operations, including system maintenance and development
  • Supervise system modifications and review work progress and accuracy
  • Provide staff management oversight, including hiring, promotions, performance reviews, assessments, and professional development
  • Ensure adherence to policies, plans, objectives, budgets, and staffing allocations
  • Track team-level project details and provide technical subject matter expertise during transitions
  • Participate in a weekly on-call rotation as required
  • Travel to the Chattanooga, TN headquarters for final interviews

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Sciences related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of experience with information technology concepts, application development and/or enterprise system maintenance methodology, terminology, and standards
  • 5 years of systems maintenance and/or programming experience
  • 3 years of expert working knowledge of at least one programming language and/or one enterprise system in use at BCBST
  • Experience with enterprise AI platforms such as Azure AI Foundry and/or Google Gemini Enterprise
  • Experience managing direct reports, preferably engineers and/or cloud SMEs
  • Multi-cloud architecture expertise in Azure and GCP
  • Knowledge of information technology concepts, methodology, terminology, and standards
  • Proven skill to develop and/or maintain an enterprise IT system
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more enterprise IT systems
  • Microsoft Office and email skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical co-workers
  • Willingness to adjust schedule for maintenance and upgrades outside business hours and participate in an on-call rotation
  • Experience in a regulated industry is a plus
  • Must be able to work in the United States, excluding New York, New Jersey, California, and Massachusetts
  • Sponsorship is not available for this role
