About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding
- Design, develop, modify, or integrate complex information systems
- Devise or modify application systems and procedures to optimize capacity, operating time, response time, and desired results
- Design, code, test, debug, and document programs, subroutines, and scripts
- Execute and deliver all phases of development and configuration lifecycles
- Manage and deliver large, difficult, and complex projects
- Respond to system failures and performance events to reduce downtime and prevent recurrence
- Serve as a technical and functional subject matter expert
- Provide technical mentoring to engineers
- Guide architecture, solution design, and strategic technology decisions across the portfolio
- Lead design, development, integration, and modernization of complex applications
- Advance interoperability initiatives, including electronic prior authorization capabilities
- Evaluate legacy systems and shape scalable solutions for future growth
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required
- 3 years of experience with information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards
- 7 years of systems and programming experience
- 3 years of expert working knowledge of at least one programming language in use at BCBST
- Proven skill with information technology in use at BCBST
- Proven analysis, design, and coding skills
- Demonstrated success leading large and complex projects
- Recognized subject matter expertise in one or more specialized areas of application systems analysis and programming
- Expert ability to interpret and translate technical and/or complex concepts into meaningful information
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with exceptional work ethic
- Leadership skills
- Effective communication with technical and non-technical co-workers
