About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the ideation, development, and productionalization of sophisticated AI solutions for healthcare payer use cases
Architect, design, and implement advanced AI models and algorithms using Python and cloud platforms such as GCP Vertex AI
Partner with product teams and business stakeholders to identify and prioritize AI opportunities for business challenges and process automation
Research and maintain expertise in advances in AI and champion adoption of cutting-edge techniques
Architect and develop scalable, efficient systems and codebases for deploying AI models into production
Serve as a technical advisor to internal lines of business, gathering requirements and translating them into AI solutions
Define and oversee evaluation and validation frameworks for AI model accuracy, reliability, fairness, and performance
Mentor junior engineers on AI development, model implementation, and system design
Establish the AI integration and automation foundation for Core Payer Applications
Develop AI platform capabilities, MCP services, and enterprise integrations connecting AI agents with applications, APIs, and data sources

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field or equivalent work experience required
5+ years of relevant work experience in analytics, technology, software engineering, healthcare, or related equivalent experience
3+ years of hands-on experience with machine learning, deep learning, and preferably AI models required
Experience designing and building enterprise-scale integrations, APIs, or platform services in a regulated environment
Experience with AI agents, MCP (Model Context Protocol), tool calling, or similar frameworks
Experience translating business workflows into scalable AI-enabled solutions
Experience handling large, complex datasets to build and optimize sophisticated data science pipelines
Deep experience with Machine Learning, Deep Learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow, Natural Language Processing, and libraries such as Hugging Face Transformers
Experience deploying and managing ML models in cloud environments; GCP Vertex AI preferred, AWS SageMaker or Azure ML acceptable
Expert proficiency in Python and relevant data science/ML libraries
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to architect, design, and implement complex systems
Demonstrated success leading technically challenging projects from conception through deployment
Ability to interpret and translate complex technical concepts for project teams, business personnel, and leadership
Technical leadership and mentorship capabilities
Effective communication and influence with technical and non-technical coworkers and stakeholders
